In light of the Omicron variant, we are taking extra precautions to keep you as safe as possible in our groups.

Last updated: January 2022

We know that a lot of people will be worried about returning to groups, however we also know that isolation in the older population has become an even bigger problem over the last two years and that people need social activities like With Music In Mind more than ever before. This is why, as long as government guidance and restrictions allow, we will be continuing to run our singing and exercise groups through 2022.

In light of the new Omicron variant and rising cases, we need to be extra cautious about keeping each other safe. We are keeping up to date with government guidance and updating our own risk assessments, and the following measures are in place at our groups:

  • Social Distancing - chairs for singing will be spaced out, and tables for refreshments will be split with limited numbers per table to allow for distancing.
  • Ventilation - ventilation will be ensured through the opening of windows and/or a door. Please wrap up warm in winter!
  • Masks - unless you are exempt, masks will be required when moving around the room, and when close to people. Please note masks are optional when sat down for singing and refreshments.
  • Lateral Flow Tests - it is recommended that members and staff take a lateral flow test before attending groups.
  • Hand Sanitiser - hand sanitiser will be available on entry and throughout each group.
  • Temperature Checks - temperature checks are taken on the way in to each group.
  • Cleaning - tables will be wiped before use, and chairs sprayed with anti-bacterial spray.
  • Limited Numbers - we are restricting numbers in line with community centre guidelines, so that there will be a maximum of 25 people at our Llantwit Major group, and a maximum of 30 people at all other groups. If you are able to book a place online or through our app so we know who to expect, please do so. Currently groups are not reaching these numbers however, so it is not essential to book in advance at this point in time.

Please note that as with all things, there will still be a risk when you attend our groups. It is up to each individual to make their own decision on whether to attend, and to follow the guidance to keep all our members as safe as possible.

  • A new, continuous cough

  • A high temperature

  • A loss or change to your sense of taste or smell

If you are displaying any of these symptoms, please book a PCR test. If you test positive for Covid-19 after attending one of our groups, we kindly request that you inform us so that we can take appropriate measures. Thank you for your cooperation.
